About the solomon islands leaf frog
The Solomon Islands leaf frog, also known as the eyelash frog or Gunther's triangle frog, is found throughout the Solomon Islands archipelago, including Bougainville in Papua New Guinea, except for San Cristobal. It lives on the floor of tropical rainforest and also in secondary forest, rural gardens and other modified habitats. Adults average about 7.6 to 10 cm in length, with females larger than males. Its cryptic colouring often mimics decaying leaf matter. An ambush predator, it pounces on insects, other arthropods, smaller amphibians and small reptiles, and will even take its own species.
