About FAWN-DOE-ROSA Wildlife Educational Park

FAWN-DOE-ROSA Wildlife Educational Park is at 2131 US Hwy 8 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, in the St. Croix River valley. Its website says it has been family owned and operated since 1963, with generations of love and care put into the park. The park describes its focus as education, saying there is much to discover, explore and learn about wildlife and nature. It is not accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

History

The park's history page says it first opened in the spring of 1963 and is privately owned and operated by a family. Many animals were hand-raised by the family, and the park says it works with conservation departments, the USDA and wildlife rehabilitators to advance animal care and education.

Exhibits and habitats

The website organizes the park into a deer yard, a petting area, a farmyard, pony rides and educational tours, plus a gift shop. In the Deer Yard, the site says visitors walk wooded paths and meet deer, elk, geese, wolves, foxes, badgers, bobcat and lynx along with other forest animals. The Farmyard, called Old McDonald's Farm, is home to farm animals including baby goats. The petting area lets guests pet rabbits, see baby animals and interact with staff.

Conservation and programs

Educational tours are offered to organizations such as school programs, summer programs and scouts, reserved through the group reservation form on the contact page. The park also offers VIP packages for birthday parties, family reunions and company picnics, which the admission page says must be booked at least two weeks ahead. No reservations are needed for general family admission. Staff are available to answer questions during visits.

Planning your visit

As listed on the park's website for the 2026 season, a soft opening took place on May 2 and 3, followed by a closure from May 4 to 8. From May 9 through September 13 the park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. From September 14 through October 25 it is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Monday through Thursday, with the last ticket sold a half hour before closing, and the season ends October 25. Pony rides are available from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, weather permitting, with size restrictions. The admission page says children must be supervised by an adult, outside food is not allowed inside the park with the animals, and a surcharge applies to credit card payments. Admission prices are on the website. The phone number is (715) 483-3772.

AZAThe Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Accredited members have passed an independent inspection of animal care and welfare, safety, conservation and education, repeated every five years. Many smaller facilities never apply, so “not accredited” isn't a verdict on its own. What accreditation means · How we check this
