About Bayou Wildlife Zoo
Bayou Wildlife Zoo is located at 5050 FM 517 Road in Alvin, Texas. Its website places it 6 miles from Interstate 45 and 3.2 miles from the Highway 35 Loop. It is not accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Exhibits and habitats
Visitors tour the zoo by tram, and the website says trams leave every 15 to 30 minutes, with wristband colors determining boarding time. The zoo also lists a Haunted Tram Ride in October. The website states that only enclosed motorized vehicles are permitted to enter the zoo, that the speed limit is 5 miles per hour, that visitors may not interact with animals from vehicles, and that motorcycles and bicycles are not allowed.

As listed on the zoo's website, effective August 1, 2026, the zoo is closed Monday through Wednesday, open Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., open Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and open Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Listed holiday closures are New Year's Eve and Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve and Day. Weather-related closures are posted on the zoo's Facebook page. The zoo's phone number is 409-904-2525.
