About the green bottle blue tarantula
The greenbottle blue tarantula is a South American tarantula and the only species in its genus. It is native to the Paraguaná Peninsula in northern Venezuela, where it lives in webbed burrows under bushes and tree roots in desert areas. The entrance is often extended with webbing, sometimes in a funnel shape, which may protect against the harsh climate and trap insects. It has metallic blue legs and a blue-green carapace, and it feeds on crickets, cockroaches and worms. Very active and fast-growing, it is particularly attractive to hobbyists. Overgrazing has damaged its habitat in Venezuela.
