About the thomson's gazelle

Thomson's gazelle is a small gazelle of East African savannas and grasslands, especially the Serengeti region of Kenya and Tanzania, and the most common gazelle in East Africa. It stands 60 to 70 cm at the shoulder and has a sandy brown to rufous coat with a black band along each flank and a white rump. It prefers short grass, grazing mainly on fresh grasses in the wet season and browsing more in the dry season. In the Serengeti it follows larger herbivores such as plains zebras and blue wildebeests as they mow down taller grasses. Territorial males scent-mark with glands near the eyes and stage mock fights at their borders.
