About Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo

Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo is a seasonal agritourism farm at 4180 West M-20 in New Era, Michigan. The farm describes itself as a fifth-generation farm and promotes what it calls a real fruit farm, a corn maze, a petting zoo, and more than 50 attractions. The zoo is one part of a larger farm operation that also includes an orchard and a farm market.

The farm is not an AZA-accredited zoo. It is a privately run attraction, and its main public season is a fall festival.

History

The farm's website describes the property as a fifth-generation farm.

Exhibits and habitats

The farm's website names sloths, lemurs, kangaroos, and capybaras among its exotic animals. A petting zoo is included, and the farm offers Animal Encounter upgrades that it says include photo opportunities and the chance to learn about the animals. According to the farm's FAQ, the prairie dogs carry an additional charge when available.

Beyond the animals, the farm lists a corn maze, a Pumpkin House photo opportunity, steer roping, a Jumping Pillow, a Hillbilly Giant Slide, and Splash Acres. The FAQ states that most experiences, including the petting zoo and Splash Acres, are included with general admission, while a number of items carry separate fees, among them animal food, apple cannons, paintball, U-Pick apples, bird sticks, and U-Pick flowers. The FAQ lists height requirements for some rides: 48 inches or taller for the big jumping pillow with a junior pillow for shorter children, and a 36-inch minimum for the giant slide.

Conservation and programs

The farm's website lists field trips and group visits, cabana rentals, annual passes, and gift cards. Food listed on the site includes gourmet sundaes and shakes and fresh-made donuts, and the FAQ mentions a fudge counter in the farm market.

Planning your visit

As listed on the farm's website, the fall 2026 season runs from September 11 through November 1, Wednesdays through Sundays. Admission can be purchased online, and ticket details are on the farm's website.

The FAQ advises families to allow about three hours up to a full day. Wristbanded guests may leave and return the same day. Only certified service animals are permitted on the premises, and smoking is permitted only in the parking lot. Accessible parking, shuttles, sidewalks, restrooms, and wide concrete paths are provided, and guests may bring their own wheelchairs or power chairs; the farm says rentals are not available. Some attractions may close during severe weather. The farm's phone number is listed as 231-861-5730.

AZAThe Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Accredited members have passed an independent inspection of animal care and welfare, safety, conservation and education, repeated every five years. Many smaller facilities never apply, so “not accredited” isn't a verdict on its own. What accreditation means · How we check this
