About Gramma Roses Kangaroos and Zoo
Gramma Roses Kangaroos and Zoo LLC is at 13737 SE Shawnee Road in the Juniper Canyon area of Prineville, Oregon. The facility is open for guided tours only; its website states that there are no self-guided visits. The zoo describes itself as a place of magical creatures and says it chooses animals that are educational, gentle and fascinating. It is not accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
History
According to the About page, the zoo was established in October 2017. Its first kangaroo, Charlotte, a red kangaroo joey, arrived on April 18, 2018.
Exhibits and habitats
The website lists kangaroos and wallabies, which it calls a mob, along with blonde and white emus, a llama, a zebra, an exotic pig, tortoises, birds, reptiles, Patagonian cavies, porcupines, an armadillo and several farm animals. The About page names African crested porcupines, a prehensile-tailed porcupine, Patagonian maras, a three-banded armadillo and African giant millipedes. Individual animals named on the site include Mitchell, an albino wallaby, Bindi, a Bennett's wallaby, and a red kangaroo named Wyatt. The homepage describes the kangaroos and wallabies as having gentle, quiet personalities, and the tour page says visitors can also hold some of the birds.
The site also carries an educational page on kangaroos and wallabies, which states that kangaroos and wallabies have distinct genetic makeups and cannot hybridize, and that both live in groups called mobs.
Conservation and programs
Besides standard tours, the website lists private group events and birthday parties lasting two and a half hours, which include a private tour and a party room; the package covers up to 15 people, with additional guests at a per-person rate. These events are offered at 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. It also mentions a Sunday Supper Club every Sunday, Evenings in the Park events, and gift certificates.
Planning your visit
As listed on the zoo's website for its 2026–2027 fall and winter schedule, tours run Wednesday through Sunday at noon and 2 p.m., and the zoo says it is open year-round. Reservations are mandatory and can be made through the website or by calling or texting 503-460-7908. Children under 4 are listed as free, and ticket details are on the zoo's website.
The tour policies say guardians supervise their children, and children cannot run free, enter pens or open cages without the tour guide. Pets are not allowed except service animals. Smoking, vaping, drinking and foul language are not permitted, photos are allowed, and the site says most of the petting zoo is handicapped accessible.
The zoo's FAQ says it is not a sanctuary or rescue, that it holds a USDA license to operate a petting zoo, and that its kangaroos do not come from Australia.

Distances are straight-line. A dash means we haven't confirmed that detail yet, not that the zoo lacks it.
AZAThe Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Accredited members have passed an independent inspection of animal care and welfare, safety, conservation and education, repeated every five years. Many smaller facilities never apply, so “not accredited” isn't a verdict on its own. What accreditation means · How we check this
