About Snowman's Reindeer Farm
Snowman's Reindeer Farm is a seasonal, family-oriented reindeer farm at 25599 E. Middle Lake Rd., Canton, Illinois 61520. Its website names Scott and Tracy Snowman as its founders and describes visits to meet Santa's reindeer in covered pavilions and barns. The farm is not AZA-accredited.
The farm operates mainly in the fall and holiday seasons. Its FAQ says it runs mainly October through December, with occasional special events at other times of year. A reservation is required to visit.
Exhibits and habitats
Reindeer are the featured animals. The website also mentions mini Highland cows and says most of its animals love to interact with people. Visitors meet the animals inside covered pavilions and barns, with petting and feeding stations. The events page notes that the bull reindeer should still have full antlers during the fall tours.
The FAQ says whether petting and feeding take place depends on current health guidelines and animal behavior, and that staff do not force the animals to do anything they do not want to do. The visitor information page adds that encounters with reindeer are not guaranteed, and that visitors interact with the animals under staff direction.
Other features listed on the website include Christmas-themed games, the Jolly Old Elf Shoppe, the Flying Reindeer Snack Bar and the Little Reindeer Railway, a kiddie train ride with height and weight limits.
Programs and events
The website lists three seasonal experiences. For the current season, Fall Farm Tours are listed for September 26 through October 11 and include meeting the reindeer and mini Highland cows and farm activities. Holiday Farm Tours are listed for November 7 through December 30 and add visits with Santa and with Holly the Talking Tree in the gift shop. Santa appears November 1 through December 24, according to the site. A Christmas Eve special on December 24 adds special holiday characters, music or surprise visitors.
Optional add-ons include train rides, personalized ornaments and snacks. Ticket details are on the farm's website.
Planning your visit
Entry is timed and reservations are made online. The visitor information page says reservations can be canceled and rescheduled, subject to availability, up to 24 hours before the visit; cancellations within 24 hours forfeit payment. Children aged 1 and under are admitted free.
A typical visit lasts 60 to 90 minutes, according to the website. The farm keeps limited hours, stating that animal welfare is its top priority. It does not close for rain and closes only in extreme conditions such as heavy ice or deep snow.
Parking is gravel and free, with handicap spaces near the entrance. Groups arriving in passenger vans of 15 or fewer are asked to notify the farm ahead of time, and the farm cannot accommodate large bus parking during regular public hours. Surfaces are gravel or concrete, buildings have 36-inch entry doors, and the restrooms are handicap-accessible portable toilets. Strollers are welcome.
Shoe and hand sanitizing are required. Outside food and drinks, smoking and vaping are not allowed. Pets are not allowed, though service animals are permitted except in the reindeer barn. Professional photography is not allowed unless it is for a publication or advertising campaign guided by the owners. The farm can be reached at 309-647-0569.

Distances are straight-line. A dash means we haven't confirmed that detail yet, not that the zoo lacks it.
AZAThe Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Accredited members have passed an independent inspection of animal care and welfare, safety, conservation and education, repeated every five years. Many smaller facilities never apply, so “not accredited” isn't a verdict on its own. What accreditation means · How we check this
